Director’s Message – March, 2016

Greetings MCLA/Sacred Path Community,

My hat is off to Jeffery Passero and his lovely wife and daughter, Liz and Lilli, who added their enchantment to Jeff’s remarkable cabaret performance, “My Night to Howl!”  fundraiser for MCLA. Talk about a talented family! And I understand that his other two daughters, Sasha and Izabella,  have maintained the Passero good looks and talent as well.  Thank you Passeros, and the great trio that backed them, for an outstanding evening of entertainment at Hollywood Piano.  And, many thanks for donating the proceeds to MCLA, a generous contribution of $2,000 to our scholarship fund.  Jeff wants to plan more entertainment fundraisers for us.  A resounding YES! and THANK YOU.

Last month I indicated that we were in the planning phase for a 1-day men’s event that would take place on Saturday, April 16th, on a day we would have normally held our Spring retreat.  If you’re not aware that we are not going to have a 4-day retreat in April this year, well, we’re not. But we do have dates for our retreats in the Fall of 2016 (October 20-23), and Spring of 2017 (April 27-30) already booked.  We had been searching for a venue for our 1-day introductory retreat on April 16th, but what turned up we feel is even better.

“A GATHERING OF MEN”
Saturday, May 7th

I sent a message to John Bard at Hilltop, the camp where we hold our 4-day retreats, asking if there was a Saturday that we might be able to use in April or May.  He offered Saturday, May 7th, and I booked it.  For now, please mark your calendar for this date.  We will facilitate “A Gathering of Men” retreat from 9 am until 5 pm that will include a powerful program and a hearty lunch prepared by our resident chef, Arturo, and his staff.   We will send out another message next week with more details about the event. The registration process will be open next week.

The Gathering of Men event is a perfect opportunity to introduce family and friends, not only to who we are and what we do, but also to the beautiful site we use.  For those who may have been reticent to sign up for one of our 4-day retreats, this provides the perfect opportunity to have an experience that can also serve as a sample of what our longer retreats are like.  So, check your calendar and circle Saturday, May 7th, the day preceding Mother’s Day (we’ll work a bit of that into our program as well).  This is likely our only Spring 1-day event, so it’s a great opportunity to gather with other men who are on the Sacred Path dedicated to expanded self-development, mindful manhood and conscious masculinity.
